While Long Island City’s MoMA PS1 has a suggested admission price of $10, the museum was recently the recipient of a grant which would provide New Yorkers with free access to the museum for a year.

Free admission begins on Sunday, October 11, 2015 and lasts until October 15, 2016. In order to get in for free, visitors will have to present a proof of residency in the city, such as a driver’s license, ID card or a utility bill.

Unfortunately, although the admission will be free, other events, such as concerts, performances, and fundraisers, will all be ticketed.

The grant, which came from the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation, doesn’t have a disclosed amount attached.

Klaus Biesenbach, PS1’s director, told the New York Times that PS1 is “a citizen of all five boroughs with a proud base in Queens.”

“This gift is made in honor of all New York City artists as it also marks the occasion of MoMA PS1’s 40th anniversary in 2016,” Biesenbach added.

Also worth noting that the museum’s newest exhibition, Greater New York, will open on October 11.
