Workshop to examine safety around Astoria Park
DNAinfo reports that Astoria residents will be able to brainstorm ideas to make the streets around Astoria Park safer, at a workshop hosted by the DOT taking place October 28.
The area has been plagued by reports of speeding drivers and accidents in recent years, including a hit-and-run in June on 19th St. that left a 21 year-old woman dead.
Assembly member Aravella Simotas has suggested closing off a swath of Shore Blvd. to traffic completely, which could be discussed at the meeting.
The workshop will take place at Bohemian Hall (29-19 24th Ave.) at 7 p.m. on October 28th.
The traffic safety meeting will take place Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. upstairs at Bohemian Hall, at 29-19 24th Ave.
