Bus Time signs installed across Astoria

IMG_0835If you’re on line to catch the Q69, the Q100, the Q18 or other buses that run through Astoria, now you’ll know how much longer you have to wait.

Ten bus time signs were installed at stop locations in Astoria, thanks to funding from Councilman Constantinides’s participatory budgeting process.

The signs use GPS-based bus tracking technology called MTA Bus Time, which providers ideas with real-time information.

“RTPI bus countdown blocks provide much-needed information to bus riders and help make bus travel more efficient,” Constantinides said. “Astorians showed how much they wanted these clocks installed in our neighborhood during participatory budgeting.”

Signs will be operational at the following bus stops:

  • 21st Street and 30th Avenue (Q100, Q69 southbound)
  • Ditmars Boulevard and 31st Street (Q69 eastbound)
  • Ditmars Boulevard and 31st Street (Q69 westbound)
  • 21st street and Broadway (Q100, Q69 northbound)
