Old Astoria Neighborhood Association meeting on May 9

The Old Astoria Neighborhood Association is hosting its monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m.

It will be at St. George’s Episcopal Church, located at 14-20 27th Avenue.

The meeting agenda includes a presentation by Public Advocate Letitia James on her vision to reform the property tax system, a bill to reform the New York City Charter and hear about quality of life concerns from residents.

Next, Shirley Echevarria from NYC Parks will update the group on the status of capital project nearby, as well as address other park-related concerns.

Finally, neighborhood coordination officers from the 114th Precinct, Joseph Esposito and Keith Matthes, will talk about safety and crime.

Food will be provided by the new restaurant Trattoria Ora, located at 18-01 Astoria Blvd.
