Cross Stitch Craftivism at The Astoria Bookshop

Join the Astoria Bookshop at 31-29 31st St on Sunday the 12th from 3-4pm for an afternoon of needlework and resistance! Inspired by Shannon Downey of Badass Cross-stitch and Astoria’s own Caustic Cross-stitch, you will be taught how to embroider your stuff with radical, rebellious, and righteous phrases.

Bring any canvas you’d like to modify–jeans work great! So do canvas bags and handkerchiefs. Needles and embroidery floss will be provided. There will also be a small number of denim swatches to work on.

This event is free to attend and no prior needlework experience is needed!
