AKTINA FM now has a street named after it
Greek-American public radio station AKTINA FM now has its own street.
Last week, elected officials named 23rd Avenue and 27th Street after the station, which has served Greek and Greek-Cypriot communities for decades.
“AKTINA is an integral part of Astoria,” said founder and host Elena Maroulleti, a native of Cyprus. “It was born here, it grew up here and continues to thrive in the heart of Astoria.”
