Steinway branch set to close on October 27

Queens Library’s Steinway branch, located at 21-45 31st Street, will officially close for extensive renovations on Saturday, October 27 at 5 p.m.

The branch will reopen in fall 2019.

The $3.9 million renovation will add a new elevator that will go to all three floors, a new ADA-accessible ramp to the main entrance, and a new book sorting area.

The second floor and cellar, roof and masonry will all be upgraded.

In the meantime, please use the library’s mobile service on Wednesdays and Saturdays, beginning November 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The other option is going to nearby Queens Library locations at the Astoria branch (14-01 Astoria Blvd.), Broadway branch (40-20 Broadway), and LIC branch (37-44 21st St.).
