Astoria Park Alliance Holiday Fundraising Social
On Thursday, December 13th Astoria Park Alliance will host its annual Holiday Fundraising Social from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, at The Freckled Moose (3317 31st Avenue). This festive celebration supports the all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to the jewel of our community, Astoria Park.
APA’s efforts have been a true labor of love for 11 years. 2018 was the group’s biggest year yet that included more volunteer hours, more project days, more free community events, and more new amenities for the park than ever before.
Auction items have been donated by many generous backers/supporters of Astoria Park. Park lovers can now bid online or in person, and will find fantastic packages of items and tickets from The Jersey Boys, Inside Astoria, Simply Fit Astoria, 5 Star Soccer Academy, QED, Locked Escape Room, Kanga’s Indoor Playcenter, Raising Astoria, Sugar and Water, The Bonnie, Astoria Park Wine and Spirits, and many, many more! To place a bid visit charityauction.bid/astoriapark.
The year-end event also allows APA to honor those whose efforts have made such a big difference to the park. This year’s honoree for distinguished service is Councilmember Costa Constantinides. Costa’s persistent and focused advocacy is chiefly responsible for Astoria Park receiving a $30 million infrastructure investment from the Mayor’s Office through the Anchor Park program. APA will also be honoring two outstanding volunteers with the 2018 Volunteer Award, Stephanie Berry and Phyllis Sharp.
With a $10 entry donation at the door (or $8 in advance), attendees will receive $1 off all food and drink items at The Freckled Moose, plus a raffle ticket for more special prizes that will be available on site.
Please join Astoria Park Alliance for a night of games, fun, food, and drink, and giving back to the community you love. APA is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
