Enjoy this multi-cultural celebration this weekend
On Sunday afternoon the Central Astoria Local Development Coalition is hosting a multi-cultural celebration at the RIOULT Dance Center on the Astoria/Long Island City border.
The new dance center, which opened last October, is located at 34-01 Steinway Street. The event on Sunday will be free for all.
Enjoy music and dance from cultures from around the world, including Mexico, Ecuador, Greece, China and Egypt.
Here’s the rundown of the program:
- 12:30 p.m. – Ayazamana Cultural Center (Ecuador)
- 1 p.m. – Chinese Theatre Works (China)
- 1:30 p.m. – Yasser Darwish (Egypt)
- 2 p.m. – Folk Dance Club Kaleidoscope (Russia and Ukraine)
- 2:30 p.m. – The Calpulli Mexican Dance Co. (Mexico)
- 3 p.m. – The Japanese Folk Dance Institute (Japan)
- 3:30 p.m. – The Pontion Society Komninoi of New York (Greece)
- 4 p.m. – Braata Productions (The Caribbean)
