Participatory budgeting assembly at Bohemian Hall tonight
Councilmember Costa Constantinides is holding a neighborhood assembly tonight in Astoria, the first leg in this cycle’s participatory budgeting process for district 22. Community members can come out and discuss potential projects for which $1.5 million (a 50% increase over last year) could potentially be allocated. Through these initial meetings proposals will be developed, which will subsequently be voted upon to see which projects receive funds.
The assembly will take place at Bohemian Hall (29-19 24th Ave.) from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m.
The results of the district’s last cycle of participatory budgeting were announced in May, with funds going towards public school tech upgrades, an Astoria dog run on Hoyt Avenue, and a new playground at LIC’s IS 126.
