Kaufman Astoria Studios announced last week that it was building two new soundstages on its campus, bringing the total number to 12.

The two stages, located at 34th Avenue and 36th Street, will be 15,000+ square feet and 8,000 square feet apiece.

They will be housed in one building and will include an underground parking garage.

“There is no better place to make a movie or TV show than New York City,” said Hal Rosenbluth, President and CEO of Kaufman Astoria Studios. “With the tremendous growth of the entertainment industry here, our stages are constantly occupied, and we’re thrilled that with the new stages we will be able to expand the number of productions that call New York home.”

They expect to break ground on the new stages in the fall.
