Fireworks at Astoria Park tonight
The annual Astoria Park fireworks for Independence Day, organized by the Central Astoria Local Development Coalition, is set for Thursday, June 28.
The event, expected to draw thousands of residents and visitors, will feature a performance by the Patriot Brass Ensemble. Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m., but the fireworks usually don’t start until around 9 p.m.
Be sure to bring your own lawn chain if you want to sit on the grass. And if you’re coming in via car, get there early to find a parking spot. Experience tells us the streets will be crowded on Thursday evening.
You said it! Parking is a nightmare, even walking is a challenge. Patience is a virtue so best to bring that along with a chair and smile 🙂
