Astoria’s 8th Street is the nosiest in NYC

New York is the city that never sleeps. On 8th Street in Astoria, apparently no one can sleep.

According to a new PropertyClub study, based on 311 complaint calls, 8th Street is the noisiest street in NYC.

Last year alone, there were 2,638 total complaints about noise on those blocks. More than half of those complaints were for loud music/partying.

Coming in second was Madison Street in Ridgewood, followed by 9th Street in Long Island City.

Rounding out the top five are Grand Concourse in the Bronx, followed by 1st Street, also in Astoria.

Surprisingly, Queens is not the nosiest borough; that title belongs to Brooklyn. The quietest borough is Staten Island (no surprises there).

Last year, Brooklyn had 73,744 total 311 complaints about noise. Queens was fourth, with 55,042. Staten Island had a paltry 8,040 complaints.
