AOC opens 1,000th constituent case in her first term

On Tuesday, the office of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez opened its 1,000th constituent case, marking a milestone in her first term in office.

According to AOC’s office, approximately 80 percent of their cases are immigration-related. But her office also assists constituents on issues like veterans’ benefits, Social Security payments, COVID-19 relief, postal service, assistance with the IRS and more.

“My team and I are immensely proud to serve one of the most diverse districts in the country, with nearly half of our constituents identifying as immigrants,” Ocasio-Cortez says.

AOC also thanked her staff, who have worked from home since the pandemic started, but still assists constituents with everything from PPE to stimulus checks and internet connectivity.

In addition to constituent work, her staff has attended over 500 community events and returned over 2,300 letters and emails in the last two years.

They have also hosted several mobile office hours at public libraries to make themselves more available to the district.

Constituents in the 14th congressional district can request assistance by calling 718-662-5970 or sending a message here.
