Dancing with the Community Stars Fundraiser

The Variety Boys & Girls Club will host their 5th annual Dancing with the Community Stars fundraiser next Saturday, Nov. 15th.

The event is an annual fundraiser to benefit the children of the Western Queens community that brings out hundreds of attendees every year.

The evening is based on the popular TV show, “Dancing with the Stars.” Community stars — such as council members, chairmen, teachers, coaches and cancer survivors — are paired up with professional dance instructors and learn a dance routine. They then perform for the audience, who may vote on their favorite, and a panel of guest judges.

This years stars are:

Dale Jones (Lauren Jones Scholarship)
Vinny Renda (Variety Boys & Girls Club)
Andres Quiceno (Long Island City YMCA)
Joann Rodeschin (United Federation of Teachers)
Lucha Alforque (St. Teresa’s Youth Group)

Dinner is also included, so guests can enjoy a great meal with good company, as well as enjoy live entertainment.
