Growing Up Green wins Blackboard Award
Growing Up Green Charter School in Long Island City won the Blackboard Awards, an annual accolade recognizing scholastic excellence.
It was one of 14 schools citywide to receive the honor.
“We are honored and grateful that the important work the GUG staff has done over the last 8 years has been recognized,” said Matthew Greenberg, executive director and founder of the school.
Now in its eighth year, Growing Up Green recently received more than 3,000 applications for just 140 available seats. The school expanded to Jamaica this year, welcoming Growing Up Green II in September.
