The “Dream Cookie Contest” gave participants the chance to submit a cookie idea for the chance to have their cookie created, baked, and sold by Chip NYC!

Chip’s philanthropic effort, “Chip in at Variety”, was organized to foster creativity, engagement, and support kids and families in the Astoria & LIC community.

Chip NYC will be donating a portion of the proceeds of that cookie sold to the Variety Boys & Girls Club in support of Variety’s STEAM & STEM education programs.

The “Dream Cookie Contest” winner was announced at a fun baking event at the club on Saturday, June 9th.

Over 25 kids and families submitted their cookies and actually baked cookies, at the event hosted by Chip NYC & Variety’s Young Professionals Committee.

Alex Brown, the Club’s Program Director, orchestrated the baking part of the event, while Chip Staff and Variety’s Young Professionals Committee handed out cookies and helped the kids create and bake their cookie.

Many innovative ideas were submitted: Cookies were peaches & cream, the Santa cookie, the way of milky, the maverick, the Texas gold nugget, double chocolate hazelnut, the magnolia, fuggey’d about nutter butter, and more…

The winner was… Strawberry Hearted Chip, created by 9-year-old club Member, Isabelle Yukselen.  Isabelle won $50 gift card to Chip and was super excited that her cookie will be baked by Chip.

“I can’t believe it,” Isabelle exclaimed, as her name was announced by Chip’s head baker. “The club means so much to us,” said Cecile, Isabelle’s mom. “We’ve been members for three years now, and I am so proud of Isabelle’s development. She loves the activities, and learning new things,” added Cecile.
