Mobile market to provide free produce in Astoria

As part of UnitedHealthcare’s commitment to build healthy communities, its employees will partner up with City Harvest to deliver free, fresh produce to residents in low-income communities around the city.

With a $30,000 donation from UnitedHealthcare, City Harvest’s Mobile Market Program will deliver 125,000 lbs. of fresh food to help feed 3,600 New Yorkers of all ages, races, and genders who are going hungry.

These Mobile Markets are open-air, farmers market-style distributions of free, fresh produce that provide a regular supply of food to residents in low-income communities.

An upcoming mobile market will take place on Tuesday, October 8 in Astoria from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. To find the market, head to 7-1 Astoria Blvd. (Basketball court off of Astoria Boulevard in the Astoria Houses).

To get the free produce, you must be a resident of the Astoria Houses or a resident in zip code 11102.
