Astoria Park Alliance’s August meeting cancelled

Astoria Park Alliance has cancelled its August monthly meeting.

The group is looking to reinstate its monthly meetings, typically held on the first Tuesday of the month at Bohemian Hall, in September.

With that said, many parts of Astoria Park have officially reopened, including the playground, skate park, fitness equipment area, running track and soccer field, and the dog run.

Users still need to wear face coverings, follow social distancing and avoid high-contact sports.

Charybdis Playground is closed for construction, so users can go to the nearby Triborough Bridge Playground B on 21st Street and Hoyt Avenue.

Astoria Pool, meanwhile, will reopen on August 1. It’s one of 15 free outdoor city pools that will reopen this summer.
