Local politician remarks on the death of former Governor Mario Cuomo

Local State Senator Michael Gianaris commented on the death of former Governor Mario Cuomo, who passed away yesterday from heart failure at the age of 82.

“With the passing of Mario Cuomo, our state and our nation have lost a once-in-a-lifetime leader who never wavered in his principles even while achieving political success,” Senator Gianaris said. “I join my fellow New Yorkers in grieving this loss and sending condolences to our current Governor and the entire Cuomo family. Mario Cuomo inspired an entire generation to follow his example and dedicate themselves to public service. I am privileged to be among them. May his memory be eternal.”
