This morning, Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas welcomed former Mets outfielder Art Shamsky to the Capitol in Albany for a resolution commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1969 World Champion “Miracle Mets.”
Shamsky was an integral part of that World Series team, batting .300 with 14 home runs.
He then hit .538 in the post-season batting cleanup – a remarkable average that helped the Mets claim their first championship.
