Take this survey advocating for a ferry from Astoria to UES

The Old Astoria Neighborhood Association is calling on residents to fill out a survey about a possible ferry route between Astoria and the Upper East Side.

OANA, an advocate of that route, wants residents on both sides of the East River to express how they would utilize increased ferry service.

“Public transit is the lifeblood of our city,” the group wrote in its monthly newsletter. “The ferry is an open-air ride, and the 5-minute trip would be extremely cost and time-effective.”

Astoria and the Upper East Side are only 1,515 feet away from each other by water, the group notes. OANA also argues that having the extension would generate more economic activity for both areas.
